Our story

At Margshala Foundation, we believe in enabling young people to create livelihood opportunities for themselves. Only by empowering the next generation can we collectively contribute to a resilient future for the mountains!

We've been working on this together since 2019, aiming to forge an alternative future for Himalayan youth through youth entrepreneurship, climate change adaptation, and sustainable livelihoods. From 2019 till 2022, our projects were incubated under IABT Foundation. In December 2022, Margshala Foundation was formally registered as a non-profit organisation to take forward our work within and beyond Uttarakhand.

☕ Team culture

Margshala fosters a culture built on transparency, collaboration, and a flat working structure. We champion open communication, where every team member, regardless of their role or experience, is encouraged to contribute their valuable ideas and opinions.

This inclusive environment empowers everyone to take ownership, be challenged, and initiate positive change, resulting in enhanced decision-making and problem-solving.

The team embraces field work as well as remote work as an opportunity for wider collaboration, ensuring that our culture of openness and inclusivity extends to all team members, no matter where they are located.
